Theo van Rysselberghe (1862 - 1926) was a Belgian neo-impressionist painter who is perhaps more well known for the work he created during his pointillist phase. He first adopted the pointillist style after viewing 'Sunday Afternoon on the Island of la Grande Jatte' by Seurat in 1886 and continued in it for almost 20 years.
During his pointillism phase Theo created more pointillist portraits than any other neo-impressionist, some of which can be seen below.
